About the meeting
The XXXIV international meeting for the study of marine mammals will be held in Queretaro City, on May 12 - 15. Our meeting´s theme is "Multidisciplinarity as a strategy to solve marine mammal conservation conundrums".
We will host well known speakers for keynote presentations, and have sessions for oral presentations, poster presentations, clinical cases, case studies and project proposals. In addition, we will offer a series of specialized preconference workshops and cultural events. This year we will offer simultaneous spanish-english translation (free of charge), so we hope to host a good number of non spanish speakers. You will definitely not regret taking time to come to Queretaro!l
Keynote speakers
Four scientists whose research covers different aspects of marine mammalogy will talk about their studies from a multidisciplinary perspective.
Workshopswo
As part of the activities related to the XXXIV Meeting, we are offering basic and advanced workshops. Current SOMEMMA members are entitled to a 40% discount on workshop registration. ¡Book early, places are limited!
Entertainment
SOMEMMA's meeting will be held in the historical city center of the beautiful city of Queretaro, famous for its quaint streets and plazas filled with cafes, bars, museums and theatres. In addition, Querétaro is close to Peña de Bernal, the wine and cheese route of Tequisquiapan and the historical Cerro de las Campanas. ¡Make sure you take time to visit them on your own or book a tour! and
Abstract submission
Abstracts will be received from January 5 through to February 14, 2014. ll
Photography competition
You are invited to submit one or more photographs to participate in the competition "The sea from a wide perspective". The competition rules and entry form can be consulted here. Photographs will be accepted until April 18, 2014. ll
Conference venue and hotels
All presentations will be hosted in the Rosalio Solana Theatre, located in the heart of Queretaro's historical city center.
There are many hotel and hostel options in the city center, all within walking distance from the conference venue. In terms of the price, the range is very wide, from low-budget hostels to boutique hotels and pampering spa hotels.
Registration and fees
To attend the meeting you need to submit your registration details and cover the conference fees. These vary according to your SOMEMMA membership status and date.
Video night
